This manga has a filiation with Hebigami No Miko (“ni” = 2), but not a direct one.
From the first Hebigami No Miko, with the confirmation of this Ni volume, we can infer there is a line of priestesses chosen by a local snake deity, they’re born into this world with a crotch tattoo and tanned, dark skin, and grow into absolutely fine babes.
However, their fates seem woven with short-lived happiness.
In this Ni volume, one of these priestesses falls in love with a young man working at the local temple, he is the only one treating her like a normal girl, she has sex with him, and this is it. But the mangaka’s postcript (that I would encourage you to read, there are interesting thoughts!) clearly mentions there’s a storm brewing for the poor girl ¯\_ʘ‿ʘ_/¯
Well, see for yourselves. Graphically, that was really good, however, unlike the previous volume, there is an industrial number of X-ray shots, that ruined most of the best panels, in my opinion. Still great, but, you know, it feels a bit wasted because of that, matter of tastes.

Oliver, you need to look through your shares under “Kanden Shoujo Chuuihou”, because apparently it’s a circle comprising TWO artists with their own separate works. The two Hebigami no Miko doujinshi, for example, are by Mafuyu, and yet you’re describing the first part as being done by Miyuki Rei.

You sure Hebigami No Miko and Hebigami No Miko Ni aren’t related? On Doujins this one is titled 2. Also, the priestess in both have the same figure, same skin tone, same tattoo, same headband, and the same name. Also, the local god has the same name in both. I think Hebigami No Miko takes place in the 1980s and Hebigami No Miko Ni is a prequel taking place in the village the MC in Hebigami No Miko mentioned disappeared hundreds of years ago. Like this story is the first part of how the village disappeared and her being stuck in the shrine that seems to be outside time and space somewhat with a barrier around it. Would explain why she didn’t know what a tape player was in Hebigami No Miko.
Possible. Very hard to tell, but possible. For me, this is taking part in the same universe, is all. It’s said the women chosen by the local god have that aspect, so that wouldn’t shock me either.
I guess only the future will tell.
I wonder if x-ray areas could be edited out as easily as censorship bars.
