Olly knowing that you work so hard to bring us this stuff I wonder if you could tell us a bit about the day in the life of a hentai uploader. Do you usually do a run of the scanlation sites and then rehost and reupload? Does this take a lot of the time out of your day?
I'd hate to think of your family being neglected just so I can have my hentai. I normally wouldn't care about these questions but since you aren't a college student with too much time on his hands taking Japanese 101 like everyone else in the hentai world it would be interesting to get the perspective of a family man and an all around normal person.

Well, there isn't much to say… I have my free evenings when everybody is sleeping, kids and early-sleeper wife.
I have been, I am and I will always be a hentai fan, so browsing hentai is a pleasure for me.
And also, ironically, the more real life sucks when it comes to my work (business isn't good), the more I need to go into hentai sharing. In a way, this blog is my safe place, my harbour, the place where things are blooming perfectly and where I'm in control without being threatened by anything or anyone.
As for my sharing routine, well…
First I browse my favorite places (a few blogs for scanlators making regular updates, a few torrents and middle-men websites, and once or twice a week when I have more time the complete list of my potentially interesting bookmarks but it takes far longer). I download things looking good to my hard disk, and the things potentially looking good to share are copied to another folder.
Next is reading, sorting, managing folders and such. When this is something potentially interesting for hentairules, I read them from the "potentially to share" folder, and I automatically rename (F2 powa, adding a 0 as first char so that they'll be shown on top by alphabetical order) the pictures looking very good, so that I can easily pick my preview pictures when I decide to share them.
When I have decided to share for good something I'm reading, I zip it and start uploading it at once (just not forgetting the pictures de-renaming), and then I proceed to the next potentially interesting manga while the uploading takes place.
I've made myself a pretty good routine with several tasks working in parallel (uploading, renaming, pictures galleries, etcetera), so that it takes a minimum of time, much less time than in the beginning when I mas processing things serially and not in parallel. Each manga I share has his own links.txt file containing all the hyperlinks I'm going to use, to save time too.
All in all, browsing + enjoying + having fun + posting may take me between 1 and 2.5 hours. And even if, technically, this time would be more proffitable if it was spent on my work, this is a practical nonsense, because without this wonderful stress-reliever I'd have already given up long ago.

It is interesting to see how my hentai reading has changed and evolved and become more effecient as time goes on. I used to depend on EZmanga that occasionally posted tankobon until in the forum I saw a thread that you had made. Ezmanga has unfortunately withered but after I built up a blogroll of scanlators (about 30 frequently updated sites with another 30 rarely) I just click open all and the cornucopia of hentai is before me. I
t's funny that I used to spend hours hunting down new stuff of variable quality when now I spend 5 minutes checking for updates. If I used Rss im sure that would be even more effecient but wheres the fun in that?! Also it is really stunning to see the shear amount of quality translations coming out, usually such that I am able to dl about 100 mbs of manga every day. I am glad I don't know japanese because even the amount of english stuff put out is overhwhelming.Long live hentairules and long live hentai!
